The Swine Flu vaccine has been attracting proponents and opponents from all over the United States. NPR reports that such celebrities are coming out acting as counterweights to the CDC’s constant push to have high risk groups vaccinated such as Bill Maher Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck.
These open opponents are unwilling to trust the government with any decisions that would affect their health and medical treatment. It’s easy to find many individuals who feel the same way. One third of Americans are worried about the side effects of the Swine Flu Vaccine. CBS News reports that even pregnant women are not keen on the idea of being used as guinea pigs for the government’s virtually untested vaccine, even though the CDC considers them a high risk group.
Because the vaccine is widely unavailable due to demand in many places some individuals are panicking especially when statistics like half of the 86 deaths in April due to Swine Flu were teenagers.
Stories such as this should continue to propel all to find alternative methods for prevention.
